If methods like Newton-Raphson or Fast-Decoupled are used for distribution systems, the probability of their convergence would be low. Therefore, due to inherent characteristics of distribution systems, it is essential to develop the distribution version of the load flow methods. One of the elements which should be considered in distribution load flow solution is the presence of Dispersed Generation (DG) units on the network. There are two types of DG units from operational modes point of view, constant output active and reactive power (PQ) and constant terminal voltage (PV).
