Abstract

Abstract- This is a companion paper to a paper of the same title, Part I. In the Part I paper, it was proposed that a centralized control system be established to coordinate some selected dispersed generators (DGs) in a distribution system for providing the usual energy service as well as some ancillary services, such as reactive power control, load following, and compensation of continuous PQ disturbances (e.g., waveform distortions and unbalances). In this companion paper, computer simulations of an actual 29-bus, low-voltage distribution system are reported and discussed in order to illustrate how the ancillary services can be provided by the DG units as a result of the effectiveness of the coordination provided by the proposed centralized control system.
