Abstract

This paper presents a distinctive way of controlling the angle position of a switch reluctance motor by implementing fuzzy logic. Fuzzy logic is a supple and general-purpose scheme of implementing non-linear functions and as such it is valuable in control applications. Therefore we designed a fuzzy current controller to control the velocity of SRM aptly. The essential design parameters of a fuzzy logic controller are specified. The input control parameters, the output control parameters and fuzzy logic control stratagem are described. The language variables, the rule base and the relationship of the error of the rotor speed, the derivative of the error of the rotor speed, the turn-on angle and the turn-off angle of the controlling switches are given. The subordinate Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) and the decision form of the fuzzy control are also presented. The systems control strategy is tested experimentally.
