| Abstract | The high growth trend characterizing the Distributed Generation (DG) diffusion, in traditional radial structure MV networks, may be limited by some technical factors. The redeployment of power flow along feeders, the possible feeder ampacity violations and the impact on voltage regulation are some of the issues which the network operator will have to face in case of a high penetration of DG plants. In the next future Distribution System Operators (DSOs) will be called to adopt innovative techniques to coordinate the management of their electrical systems. The paper presents how the spot pricing theory, applied to distribution networks context and its operational constraints, appear to be the logical and appropriate evolution of existing techniques for power system operation and planning, both generation and demand-side. |
