| Abstract | The induction motor are widely used in the industry, has been favored because of its self starting current, capability and rugged structure low cost and reliability. This paper presents an accurate dynamic model of a squirrel cage induction motor for the transient studies. The machine parameters are not constant and depend on saturation, skin effect and temperature. This accurate model taking into consideration skin effect(deep bar effect), Stator and rotor leakage flux paths saturation, main flux saturation and temperature. This developed model requires equivalent circuit parameters that vary with frequency and temperature that are obtained by Finite element analysis(FEA). the proposed model has been simulated using matlab program. In order to validate our model on both transient and steady state regimes. an experimental test-bed with a three phase, 30 KW induction motor has been used. The computed resultes confirme that in order to improve the simulation accuracy the inclusion of nonlinearities (saturation, skin effect and temperature) is necessary. After carring out experimental verification, agreement between the simulated and measured results achieved. |
