| Abstract | Its well known that when the rated terminal voltage is suddenly impressed to the stationary state squirrel-cage induction motor, a vibratory transient torque appears. There is report that transient torque sometimes causes problem. It is thing to have possibilities to damage to gear of compressor side, joint part and so on, and cause shaft fatigue. However, this fact is not unexpectedly considered by many industrial users. We considered and discussed about the induction motor driven turbo compressor in the past. And we also try to clarify the problem. In this paper, we confirmed the effects of combination of the starting resistor and reactor the squirrel-cage induction motor to suppress the peak of transition torque by the simulation with electromagnetic transient phenomenon program (EMTP-RV). |
