Abstract

Equations which describe the commutation course of brushless dc motors are established in the paper,then the analytical solutions for them are obtained under some special conditions.On the other hand,without these conditions the general simulation model is established from the equations directly by the Simulink of Matlab.By analysing simulation results, two methods to reduce torque ripple due to the commutation are presented ,One is adding inductance in series in the freewheeling circuit,and the other is delaying the moment at which the phase current is switched off.
