Abstract

This paper reports an investigation into the impact of different wind power based distributed generators on single pole auto reclosing (SPAR) schemes in MV overhead distribution networks that are operated in radial and ring modes. Development of an adaptive SPAR that fulfils the protection requirement in distribution network with high penetration of DG has also been investigated in this paper. Dynamic model of both DFIG and FSIG had been developed in this study. This work is carried out using PSCAD/EMTDC power system software.
